Reviving Hidden Gems: A Local Guide Challenge | A New Support Local Business Campaign

Hello LGs,

So far, this year has been fantastic for my favorite campaign, which is to support small or local businesses. Many of you have started following it and given it new life with your own campaigns and styles. I am very happy and feeling proud about it.

Today, I visited the old city area and luckily found this old establishment and thought of visiting it. An idea flashed in my mind about reviving the lesser-known old businesses by adding our reviews and photos and following up with as many visits as possible. So here is the campaign!

An Overview of this challenge/Campaign

In today’s fast-paced world, it is easy to overlook the unique and historic establishments that give our cities their charm and character. This campaign encourages all local guides to highlight lesser-known businesses that have been around for at least a decade. By sharing these hidden gems, we hope to generate support and patronage, ensuring their long-term success and preservation.

Importance for the Establishment

Maintaining the historical and cultural integrity of our cities depends on supporting old but lesser-known businesses. These establishments serve as legacies of regional culture and frequently inspire nostalgic sentiments. By bringing them to light, we support their continued operations, draw in new clients, and promote a feeling of community pride. Additionally, this program has the potential to greatly increase their awareness, which will raise the footprints and revenue.

Expectations from Local Guides

We advise local guides to look for businesses that have been open for at least ten years, with older businesses being even more preferable. It is recommended that participants visit these businesses, chat with the proprietors, and learn about their experiences. The post you wrote will be enhanced and strengthened by this personal conversation. In addition, you can host an in-person meet-up with our fellow local guides!!!

What to Write in the Post

When writing your post, focus on:

  1. Use the tagline “Rediscover, Review, and Revive!” in your post and title. It will be observed as part of this campaign.
  2. The significance of the establishment and its history.
  3. The unique products and experiences it offers.
  4. Tales or experiences from the proprietors or regular customers, if possible. (Make sure you are promoting this place in your write-up. :slightly_smiling_face:)
  5. Why do you feel that the community should give it more support and attention?
  6. A few excellent images that highlight the individuality and charm of the place.

In addition, you can use the campaign logo placed below:

You are free to design and use your own logos as well. Further, don’t forget to mention me in your post so I can help, and the consistency of the campaign will be maintained.

Let’s celebrate 20 years of Google Maps by giving back to the community the true dignity and pride. Together, let’s discover and honor the undiscovered gems that give our cities their unique character. You help preserve and revitalize our local treasures by participating in this effort.

Your suggestions are always welcome!
I will write a post shortly considering these points for your guidance.

Cheers!

Please try to find an establishment as well for the meet-up at these locations. Even a solo meet-up will do; else, you can definitely write a post on it.
