Review stuck on “Posting” and not showing up

Hi everyone,

I recently wrote a detailed and positive review for a hotel (Heidenauer Hof in Heidenau, Germany), including photos. I’ve changed it a few times and although it seems to initially to go through, it gets stuck on “Posting” and isn’t visible publicly - even after quite some time.

Has anyone experienced this before? Do you know what might cause this, or what I can do to make the review visible?

I’d really appreciate any tips. Thanks so much in advance!

Hello @BarkingMice, since I experienced the same a long time ago, I decided not to attach any photos to reviews anymore and instead upload them directly to the listing. This also has the advantage the entire review not being blocked because of a single rejected photo and if a photo is rejected, I see immediately which one it was.

Meanwhile, I saw several comments here on Connect complaining about “Upload pending” [1]. If there are also videos attached, the filter might need a day or longer. But if I remember correctly, somebody (@TerryPG ?) saw some since years.

I tag @MortenCopenhagen hoping, he knows more.

To @WilfriedB @BarkingMice I have had no issues with recent reviews, although I don’t review nearly as much as I used to. My issues was photos still uploaded from reviews from 2021 , even though they were receiving views, one of them over 3 million views. They couldn’t then and still haven’t found out what happened.

No-one? I can’t be the only guide who has (had) this issue. It’s incredibly frustrating and not to mention awfully annoying. I like writing meaningful and engaging reviews to help fellow travelers make up their minds where to eat and what to do, especially when they have dogs, but this takes the fun all out of the experience. Not anyone of the administrators can help?

Nobody is certainly not correct, @BarkingMice. If you search here for “Upload pending”, you’ll find several posts, but so far, I did not see any solution.

Thanks for your input. But what good does that do? A review without images is like a salad without dressing. I get that this is a workaround but I’d like to know WHY it is an issue.

Zuerst die Rezension zufügen @BarkingMice und wenn alles richtig funktioniert danach die Bilder. So bleibt nichts hängen ohne Ende.

@AdamGT - can you help? I took some really nice photos of some Greek dishes we had today and although the text version of the review goes through, it gets stuck when I try to add photos. We had this discussion last year as well, I think. Even just one photo (which I took and I have the rights to) refuses to upload. Any ideas as to why?
Sure, I could upload a text version but I for one would like to see the dishes they serve and how a restaurant plates them. Thanks for your help.
I just now (19:04) added two photos but I have 4 (included). For now the review is (still) visible but usually, after a little while it’s (automatically, I assume) deleted for some inexplicable reason.

Das weiß ich nicht @BarkingMice ich kann nur von meiner Erfahrung berichten.

So “no-one” in this instance is quite apt @WilfriedB . Thank you.

I know and I value your input @Annaelisa but I would love a solution from anyone -not a work-around. Thanks again.

Ich kann nur empfehlen die Vor-und -Nachteile abzuwägen @BarkingMice
Warten und nichts tun oder handeln

@BarkingMice @WilfriedB
I wanted to say i love your photos. Its a shame no one knows why this is happening. I think most reviews include a photo.

I personally do not add photos anymore to reviews, since i experienced problems with this some years back. But i do believe its beneficial and i hope for your sake, someone has a solution!

Thanks so much @StevenBerlin ! I enjoy taking beautiful photos and it’s such a shame I can’t share them. I started making backup reviews on TripAdvisor and just tell people to look there. Not the same, I know, but at least I get to share them. The owner of the Greek restaurant was so happy when he saw the photos, I felt I had to go the extra mile. He was such a nice guy and a great host.

I think there may be some system glitch here. My latest review is without photos too. @DeniGu

Who knows? Google won’t tell us anything. Right?
