This week, we’re loving Local Guide David McCullough’s review of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. He gives us detailed information about how to prepare for the visit and what to expect once we are there.

Apart from describing the amazing architecture of the building, he also gives some tips on what to do in advance so that we can enjoy the experience to the fullest. David advises us to go to the official website before the visit to buy tickets and make a plan of the exhibitions we want to see. He goes on to describe the amenities at the museum: a cloakroom in the lobby, easily accessible lavatories around the building, and more. If we get thirsty or hungry, we can head to the café or the bistro onsite.
David also pops in the important details of receiving an audio guide with the ticket and the possibility to leave the museum and come back freely throughout the day.
We love that he helpfully includes accessibility information in his review, saying that the building is accessible for wheelchair users.

Bilbao’s Gugenaim Museum is spectacular! I was lucky enough to visit it. Its futuristic shapes amaze both seeing it from the outside and the inside. The contemporary art collection is for real connoisseurs. To be sure, the whole city of Bilbao deserves to be seen. It is a city that in 25 years has managed to transform its face from an industrial city to a city of culture! A real example for all cities in crisis.
