Review column is not showing my reviews. Is it a server issue or any other parameters?

Hi Members,

Today morning I was writing a review on a place and after it was done. Surprisingly, I couldn’t see the review or any of my previous reviews. However, the “contribute, photos, and edit” columns are working. I herewith attached the screenshot of the same.

Just wanted to know, Is it a server issue in Google or any other parameters, which am not aware of?

Nice to meet you and hope you are doing good. I wonder could you please adjust your network and check again. You could also check on another device just to be sure.I checked your profile in an Incognito mode, and I noticed you have written 1652 reviews in total. You have 1434 public while 218 reviews are marked private or hidden from the public. I saw your reviews even on an incognito mode so I don’t quite understand what you are talking about

Although Google has filters that works automatically to hide your reviews so only you can see them. This can happen when some of your reviews violate the guidelines, including:
Prohibited and Restricted Content
Format Specific Criteria . Please

read about typical review guideline violations here.

But if you can’t see them too,then it’s a different thing altogether. Please double check and let us know. Thanks

It is a glitch on your side.

Please follow these steps:

  • Make sure to have the latest version of the app installed
  • Logout from your profile in Google Maps
  • Clear cookies and cache
  • Restart the App
  • Login again

If it doesn’t fix the issue, uninstall the App and install it again.

Regarding the hidden reviews, please check the useful reply from @SholaIB

@SholaIB Thank you for your speedy feedback. In reference to your reply, I wanted to understand the statement “You have 1434 public while 218 reviews are marked private or hidden from the public”. Where can I check this?

Secondly, I wanted to make a clear point of my query: Though I can write a review on the places I had visited, however, I can’t see the reviews in my profile, why is it so…? Screenshot for your reference. I checked both in my mobile app and system. I cleared all cache and cookies and did re-install. Still, the problem persists. How to resolve this?

@ErmesT Thank you for your response. As explained by you and advised by @SholaIB I did follow the advice. However, still the problem exists. Kindly rectify this if possible.

Do you have a desktop computer available? I am asking because it would be easy to fix the issue from there, but first you need to be able to see your reviews too.

@ErmesT with the link provided by you, I opened on the desktop (PC) incognito mode. It’s working! I mean, I can see my reviews. I herewith attached the screenshot for your understanding. Let me know what’s the next step.

Great, @VinayJayaram , this is a good news, and I hope it can reassure you about the fact that your reviews (or at leas one part of them, as explained by @SholaIB ) are public.

If I understood correctly, in your profile the reviews are not visible both on mobile and on desktop.

Thank you @VinayJayaram for flagging, we checked from our end and are unable to replicate the issue. Since your reviews are visible in Incognito Mode, there shouldn’t be any issue with your account. That said I would suggest you to follow simple troubleshooting steps as shared in this article.

In addition to that, please make sure that you have the latest Google Maps version installed on your device.

As mentioned earlier on this post by the two moderators, I still think the problem is from your ends. Please kindly check properly and follow the steps you have been advised to follow. Reasons being that:

  • I checked on your profile in an incognito mode now and I can see your reviews. I can see that you have written 1,652 reviews in total and 1,430 is public. you therefore have 222 reviews hidden from the public or marked private. Moreover I can see your last review here is about S.L.V coffee Bar
  • The one before that is juice Corner & Dosa Chicken etc.
  • In conclusion please check your connections etc properly(See the previous steps you have been given to trouble shoot) That might help. That’s about all I can say to help.

@SholaIB In reference to your reply, you have mentioned my last review is SLV Coffee Bar. However, after SLV Coffee Bar I have written reviews on three more places and my last review was on Mahadeva Fruit Shop.

I am able to write review on places, add places, add photos, add videos etc but unable view the reviews in both my Mobile and PC.

As suggested by you, @ErmesT @AngieYC I followed the instructions including troubleshoot issues, re-installation of App, clearing cache and cookies, re-installation of my browser as well. I have 24x7 quality internet facility. Nothing seems to be working.

Nevertheless, thank you for you time and feedback.

@SholaIB @ErmesT @AngieYC Latest Update as on date. The issue which I have raised has been resolved. I can see both my reviews in Android and Personal Computer as well. Surprise part is, I still didn’t understand the google algorithm how it works :thinking: . However, the problem has been solved. I wanted to thank you guys for the initial assistance.
