I have posted a negative but true review of a business. The business contacted me and offered me a refund in exchange for changing my review. I feel this is a violation of the community standards and ethically wrong of me as a local guide/reviewer. Is this allowed if not how do I report it?
Hi @kmeredith1313 I’ve answered this question from you in the Google Maps and Earth support forum, maybe you missed. I will copy and paste here my reply
Hi kmeredith1313, this is a clear violation your side, if you are inside the Google Local Guides program (https://maps.google.com/localguides/rules) and it’s a clear violation of rules from the owner if he is under Google MyBusiness program (https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177?hl=en and https://support.google.com/contributionpolicy/?hl=en&visit_id=636758948644407450-3252403254&rd=2#topic=7422769) in detail: “Don’t offer or accept money, products, or services to write reviews for a business”
So, if the company is under GMB I suggest you to report it to proper Google community: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Google-My-Business/ct-p/GMB
Right I followed your link and it takes me to the community page but I don’t see a place to file a report. It only shows the welcome page. Could you provide other information?
Hi @kmeredith1313 it’s not a ticketing system, it’s a community, like this and the Google Maps support forum; it’s focused on Google MyBusiness topic, and experts from that area will provide you some guidance on how proceed in this case.
Anyway, as you are in LG program i warmly suggest you not to accept anything in change of edits of your review.
Thanks I will post my question there. I don’t intend to do anything with my review. I posted my true and honest opinion money won’t change that.
