Hi, I sometimes use https://www.top-rated.online/ when I travel. When visiting new places around the world, I like checking the “Most reviewed” spots to discover interesting attractions or monuments.

Do you know of any other websites or tools related to our hobby?

Hi @Gaby7

What added value do you get on the website that is not available on Google Maps?

In my area the data is extremely limited compared to Maps.

I find https://www.localguides-ranking.com/ quite helpful.

Until some years ago, I often looked at https://www.tripadvisor.com/, but very rarely now. However, meanwhile sometimes reviews of Tripadvisor do appear on Google Maps.

Since I prefer to make online reservation, I first look at https://www.thefork.com/ or https://www.opentable.com/ , for restaurants before searching on Maps when planning to visit an unknown region.

I’m also a TripAdvisor member, but no longer use the site. I often placed the same review on both TripAdvisor and Google Maps, but then I discovered that it was against the rules on Maps to use material that was also posted elsewhere, so I only post to Google now.

@MortenCopenhagen I used it in Serbia and Japan. It is useful mainly when you don’t know what exactly you are looking for

Same here when I used Booking.com (I forgot to mention above). Meanwhile, I keep the first review in an editor on my PC and change the words for the other review, more or less keeping the same message, but using different words. It helps to see, what you wrote before specially if you post both reviews not the same day.

Yes. That is a great strategy.
