How to get more Views in Google map Contributor? Is there any tricks to get, suggest me some of Your photos that reaches million Views.
There are a lot of tricks for getting more views, @Sathyaraaj , however my question is: is it important to get a lot of views, or to help the businesses and the people who use Google Maps? Is it only a matter of numbers? “Is a million views of our photo in a famous shop worth more than a thousand views in a small shop in a rural area? Which of the two did we help the most?”
But of course there are tricks, even if @AdamGT will probably tell you that no one of the “star photos” that we have in Google Maps have a simple and clear explanation of why is getting so many views.
Avoiding to post a lot of photos of a place, choose only the best photos, avoid to post near duplicate photos (that will put at risk your account, because it is against the rules): From Community policy :
- “Take photos that clearly and accurately represent a location …**”
- “Dark, blurry, and redundant photos will be removed. Users who duplicate photos across locations, … will also be removed.”
There are a lot of post in Connect with tips about taking photos, starting from What photos should I share on Google Maps?
And I am sure that you can learn a lot from my friend @PaulPavlinovich . In Spotlight on Local Guide Paul Pavlinovich you may find some interesting link, like Photography tips for Local Guides - a new Video Series - everything you need
Hello @Sathyaraaj and firstly as I see that you are very new to Connect, on behalf of myself and all my fellow Local Guides here, let me extend a warm welcome to you.
While photo views has no direct significance to Local Guide points as we don’t get points for views, it’s a topic that greatly interests me and many others and your question regarding photo views, which by the way I believe is a good question, pre-empts a post that I’m writing. However, in the interim, adding to the advice given by @ErmesT , which I fully agree with, I suggest that you read the post about what I call ‘star photos’ and if you click on any of the Connect names of the Local Guides mentioned in the tables there, you will be taken to the details about that Local Guides’ star photo at that time. Together with this I also suggest that you read my comments and observations made on the Leaderboards of Photo Views post which talks specifically about photo view performance. Finally, although more on the “fun side” of this topic, you can also learn from the Top Photo Views List and the Top Photo Views List (December) posts.
Thank you @ErmesT for tagging me and bringing this question to my attention.
