Regarding My Recent Meet-up Submission

So in the past I have submitted many meet-ups, and a few of them were initially at a pending approval stage, and a few were even not approved, but the reason given behind that always satisfies me.

Today one of my meet-ups was not approved, and the reason behind that makes me sad. So I submitted the meet-up on 06 Sep at 02:14 PM (IST), and the meet-up was scheduled for 11 Sep at 05:00 PM (IST), so clearly there is a five-day gap between the submission and the event date, but still it was not approved.

I want to highlight that submitting a meet-up fewer than 5 days in advance is not possible at all. You will get an error red-texted message if it’s less than five days, as shown in the above screenshot.

Earlier also I submitted many meet-ups on Saturday, the same as this case, and they got approved on Monday.

I request @Googlers to kindly look into this matter. Kindly check if it’s a technical error or if the policies have been changed? As it’s mentioned, the meet-up should be no fewer than 5 business days, but earlier it was any 5 days.

Thank you so much

I think time also counts @Shaunak . If I gave my meetup for approval on today 6pm, meetup date & time should be minimum 5 days (starting from the 6pm).

Hello @Shaunak

What the system is saying is please make sure you submit your meet-up 5 working days before the meet-up. That gives the team time to review and monitor etc.

Your meet-up is 10th and today is 8th of September just 2 days!!! For a meet-up of 10th perhaps on the 3rd-4th of September will be good enough time to submit it.

I have a meet-up on Saturday and I submitted it today. It’s all a learning curve for us all. Sorry about your troubles. Please kindly try again

Happy guiding
Cheers

Thank you brother @Rahul001 for your acknowledgement but from 06 Sep at 02:14 PM (IST), and the meet-up scheduled for 11 Sep at 05:00 PM (IST), it is 5 days 2 hours & 46 minutes, and previously with the same case my many meet-ups were approved.

Thanks again. :folded_hands:

Hi @SholaIB thank you so much for your acknowledgement. I think there is some kind of misunderstanding as the screenshot given in the post is just for demonstrating the message, my bad that I forgot to mention it’s for demonstration only.

So to prevent any further confusion I have edited the screenshot and highlighted the actual submission time and the event scheduled time in bold.

Thank you so much again. I hope I’ll get a solution soon. :folded_hands:

Hi @Shaunak,

Thanks for flagging, it appears that there’s a misunderstanding on our end. Please check again, your meet-up has been approved.

Thank you so much @AngieYC for your kind help. Yes the Pathak Para Meet-up is live now.

Thanks a lot again for this quick action. :folded_hands:

I am happy that your meet-up has been approved, @Shaunak , however what you said is wrong

What the message that you received says is that “To ensure the community has enough time to plan, we require all meet-ups to be submitted at least 5 business days in advance.
You submitted the meet-up on Saturday 6, but as the weekend is not part of the business days, technically the days are counted from Monday 8 (today).

So I would say that the team approved it very quickly, but I don’t see a misunderstanding in the automated message, @AngieYC , as the message is probably [correctly] subtracting Saturday and Sunday from the count.

Hi both @ErmesT & @Shaunak,

To clarify the situation, @Shaunak’s meet-up was reviewed yesterday, it was 3 days away from the meet-up date which is September 11th. As mentioned by @ErmesT is quite a close time between the date of the event and the review date, that’s why it was initially rejected.

But upon closer review on the meet-up, we ended up approving it because we do not see any revision required for it.

As best practice, we suggest to avoid submitting your meet-up on weekends, since meet-ups are only reviewed during weekdays.

Thank you!
