Rediscovering the city

Visitors to a city often end up going to the same tourist spots that show up in every city tourist guide website. There is, typically, no single source of information for the off-beat places that may tickle an enthusiasts interest. For example, as an avid birder, I am keen on visiting locations that may offer me a chance to see some rare avian species, in all the places I travel to (even on work !). I am similarly interested in heritage locations and places of picturesque beauty to fuel my hobby of photography. It is with the intention of bringing such off-beat places to the attention of the seeker and aggregating them in one page that I started writing a blog about my city called “The Unknown Bangalore” (theunknownbangalore.blogspot.com)

A road trip between two cities could also have a lot of such relatively unknown locations, which would make for excellent pit-stops. It is bringing such locations to the fore, and providing valuable inputs about them to the traveler that fuels my work as a Google Guide. If I can help another traveler or enthusiast plan a complete trip, including pit-stops, with recommendations of restaurants/cafes to grab something to eat, what to look out for, etc; nothing that would give me greater satisfaction.
