Redefined Okra Soup

The Igbo tribe of Nigeria is known for different and wonderful dishes. Preparing an amazing healthy meal call for creativity and trying new things.

I tried giving this soup a name but i didn’t find a specific one. So, can also try this if you haven’t tasted it before.

Ingredients:

Red oil

Okra (with a pinch of potash),

Ugwu (fluted pumpkin leaf),

Pepper,

Meat,

Fish,

Bitter leaf

It can be garnished with the following:

cow skin, crayfish, locust bean, onions, stock fish and any other things you love.

Procedure:

add your red oil to the pot, allow to get hot, add your onions and pepper, maggi, salt, locust bean and bitter leaf; allow to cook. Add your cray fish and stock fish and if your meat and fish are raw, add them and little water, allow to cook for 2mins because of the meat.

Therefore, add your Ugwu leaf, allow to cook for 2-3mins.

"(Remove your meat and fish - optional)

This is optional too: Add a pinch of potash"

Pour your grated Okra to the sauce and allow to cook for 2mins.

Your Soup is ready. You can serve with your desired swallow.

Have tasted Rice and draw soup before? I will share my cooking with you someday.

Thanks for reading. I love you.

Eat well, and Rest well.

@leomdevs interesting recipe, I don’t know what the ugwu is, it has to give it a special flavor … thanks for sharing!

The Ugwu is a Vegetable. You can Google it to see how it looks like. Just to give the soup a nutritious garnish

The Okra/okro soup tastes great Falguni!

It’s a little slimy and takes up the taste of the sauce in which it is cooked since it is a Vegetable.

The sliminess and the seeds from the Okro are what makes it stamp its name on any sauce in which it is cooked.

Will you give it a try @FalguniP you could try eating some Momos with it.
