Red Square.
So, what is on Red square? Historical Museum, originates Nikolskaya street, GUM, St. Basil’s Cathedral, Spasskaya Tower, Lenin’s Mausoleum. There is also a memorial place and a monument to Minin and Pozharsky on Red square next to the St. Basil’s Cathedral.
Red square appeared in the late 15th century as a free space in front of the Kremlin gates and later became a shopping center for several centuries. Later, it becomes a venue for state events, meetings, and folk festivals. In front of The Spassky gate of the Kremlin is a Good place(the highest), which served as a tribune in ancient times., it read out the decrees of the tsars and boyars.
On the South side of the square is a fabulous, wonderful Pokrovsky Cathedral, its second name is the St. Basil’s Cathedral, it got its name from the name of the Moscow fool who is buried there. The temple was built in 1555-1561.The temple is now known all over the world and is the symbol of Moscow.
In the 1870s, a building of the Historical Museum was built on Red square. In Red square, the Victory parade was held on June 24, 1945. In 1930, the building of Lenin’s mausoleum was built. Next to GUM is Nikolskaya street. In the old days, along it were located shopping malls, and now it remains a pedestrian street with beautiful historical buildings, restaurants, cafes. During the FIFA 2018., it served as a fan zone for fans from all over the world. It is home to the largest Department store, which was built at the end of the 19th century.-GUM.
Spasskaya Tower and Lenin 's Mausoleum .
Opposite GUM is the most famous Spasskaya tower with its famous chimes. The Spassky tower has a red ruby star. The chimes strike every hour. The Spasskaya tower and chimes are known all over the world as well as the House of Parliament with Big Ben in London.
