Hello, Local Guides,
In September, World celebrates World Tourism Day 2021. World Tourism Day is dedicated each year on 27 September to promote awareness among the international community of the significance of tourism and its social, cultural, financial, and economic value.
Same as last year, we hoped to do something similar to last year’s fantastic photo walk to Historical places of Sindh to introduce amazing places of Sindh to the world.
@KhurramKSK from Cross Route Club International invited Local Guides from all over the country, prominent travelers, Travellogers, Vloggers, and Authors of Books (related to Tourism) to join and share their experiences regarding Traveling in Pakistan. So ISubmitted a meet-up on Connect and got an enormous response by Local Guides from Pakistan.
On 18th September 2021, We all reached at the meeting placeat 08:30 pm, from the Local Guides Community we had the host @KhurramKSK and Guests and my dear friends @user_not_found
, @Bilal_shaikh @DrFoodieOfficial
and some fabulous people came after a long journey to attend this event like @Muradahmadshah fromSwat KPK(almost 1500 Kilometers far from Karachi) @ABDULHAKEEM78 (Hyderabad Sindh,) and Pride of Pakistan & an awesome Photographer @EmmanuelGuddu from
Event :
The event started with the speech of @Khurramksk who was the host of the wonderful event, firstly he shared why the tourism industry is so much significant for any country’s economy and shared his best knowledge as a Traveller Khurram Saeed Khan is a person who has the privilege to visit every city of Pakistan and also the author of many tourism-related books in Urdu)
He also talked about the CrossRoute club which is totally a Volunteer Club, and providing an enormous platform to all those people who want to explore Pakistan’s beautiful places, and also need to promote Pakistan Tourism in global communities by social media.
After the introduction of the CrossRoute Club, we had other honorable guests like Pakistan’s leading photographer Mr. @HanifBhatti
who has thousands of followers on Social media because of his extraordinary photographs and who is famous for his landscape Photographs. Mr. Hanif Bhatti shared how he began his journey as a traveler at the age of 7, and how he explores such wonderful places and how he demonstrated Pakistan by his incredible photographs to the world. Here are some photos which was shared by Mr. Hanif Bhatti for Connect
Then I got the chance to speak and the question for me was obvious, it was about__“How anyone can promote tourism as a Local Guide?”__
Here I had a lot to say but I had just a few minutes to speak because after me there were many speakers in the queue.
But in some minutes I tried to summarize and elucidate how a Local Guide is so useful in promoting Tourism in any country?
The first thing which I shared was about the vast audience of Google, which is countless, that if you are writing a review,
Or uploading photos on Google maps, anyone in the world can know about the place by your description and visual story about the place in your Google maps review, While other social media often has some limits.
This could not have happened without the mention of the Local Guides Connect forum when we are talking about the betterment of tourism in any country.
I briefly shared about Local Guides Connect with some great examples of Local Guides around the world that show how we are sharing comprehensive Articles with terrific photographs in our Connect posts, which are open for everyone who wants to know about the place by any search engine available on the internet.
We also shared the importance of Accessibility and Accessible friendly places, Which is very valuable for the buildup of tourism.
It was a remarkable meet-up, not because we were speaking and listening, but the thing was there were truly people who knew the consequences of traveling and exploring the world.
After the event, we took many photos including a mega group photo when all Local Guides, Travellers, and Bikers were in one frame
Meet-up climaxed with a delicious dinner including Chicken & Mutton Biryani and Matka Kheer
Here are some more photos of the meet-up, you can enjoy these moments virtually by this Photo Album
