World Environment Day in India was celebrated with great passion and enthusiasm.
We had a meetup of local guides on the picturesque Baner Hills in Pune.
The atmosphere was captivating, the temple was beautiful, and we got engrossed in many activities like nature photography, group selfies, tree plantation, and bird watching.
Besides that, the butterflies, snails, and worms kept us busy as we followed them.
We arrived at the temple after climbing 200 steps.
Then we took Darshan of Tukai Devi.
Here we took the first group photo.
The tiny sapling was waiting patiently with us all the time.
The sapling can be seen in front of the banner.
We then got down to work immediately.
Each of us participated in digging pits, gathering water, soil, manure, and coconut choirs, etc.
We completed the plantations in 45 minutes.
We were chatting and enjoying ourselves while the birds were chirping and the butterflies dancing around.
A few occasional worms and snails showed up out of curiosity.
Before leaving the temple, we gathered again and took this photo to tell who we are…
INDIA LOCAL GUIDES!
Then we headed to the nearby food joint called Chhotu Tapriwala.
Here, we enjoyed special Irani Tea and Bun Maska.
Local guides also got a souvenir card that said, “I Attended an India Local Guide Meetup”.
We got it signed by other attendees to take them home as a souvenir of the meetup.
Here we shared the badges, stickers, fridge magnets, trinkets, and bookmarks - all with the Local Guides theme.
The natural beauty of the Baner Hills was a sight to behold.
Also on the other side is the beautiful concrete jungle of Pune intermingling with the green flora and fauna in perfect harmony.
Local guides will remember this meetup for a long time to come…
