Hey All,
The new Connect platform is currently trending among Local Guides! While everyone is learning new tips and tricks, @Sagarkanherkar hosted a virtual meetup to discuss what’s new in Connect on 2nd November, co-hosted by @RosyKohli ma’am and @Shrut19 taai
Around 40 people joined over Google Meet.
Since it was Diwali, the meetup started with Diwali greetings
and some festive fun
.
Many Local Guides shared their thoughts about Connect, what they like in new version and what they miss from the old version. A lot of people loved the easy tagging feature, the separate section of meetups.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind when creating a new post:
- Use your own captured photos.
- Write your content in your own words.
- Feel free to write in your own language.
- Tag Google Maps links in each post to avoid spamming.
Thanks to @TusharSuradkar , @TravellerG @Globe_trotter_Ish, @NareshDarji for their useful insights in between.
Thank you, Sagar dada, for hosting such a meaningful and informative meetup! And thanks to everyone for making it an engaging session with active participation.

If I missed mentioning anyone who attended, please feel free to tag me in the comments! Apologies for any names I missed.
I love the new UI, it’s so much more user-friendly!
My favorites are the tagging feature, and easy post previews for now. There’s still a lot to explore!
