First of all, thank you to every single soul that attended our meetup this Sunday.
Secondly, we had a phenomal time. Our virtual hangout was a wrap up to our Nigeria Community Spolight Week, which took place from November 17th through the 23rd. After going through a week of sharing insights, stories and member spotlights, we decided to bring everyone together to connect and engage with our community!
The event was co-hosted by @UdokaObis and myself, and let me just give Udoka all the accolades for a splendid role played! The energy was at a high and more importantly, participants felt comfortable to listen, laugh, and even dance a bit at some point.
We started the event with introductions and discussing what guests knew about Nigerian. Turns out individuals came prepared! We then had a listening session and audience had the opportunity to requests music. We heard snippets from Flavour to Asa and received a bit of a knowledge-sharing moment on the concept of afrobeat and the fusion of afrobeat and even amapiano with other range of music.
As if that was not enough, we took some time to give the community and our members their accolades for their collaborative spirit and willingness to not only take ownership of the roles and initiatives they sign up for, but also to help and bring others along.
Finally, local guides had the space to share different travel stories around Nigeria and was particularly stood out to them. There are 36 states in Nigeria, and some members have travelled to 20 and 31 states!
We wrapped up the virtual hangout with a quiz, and the audience received a 100% overall!! Yes, quite impressive!
Overall, it was a wonderful way to wrap up the week, and I hope you all stay engaged with our beautiful community, our members, and overall our wholesome country.
