Attended this colorful and lively meetup focused on supporting small local businesses during the festive season :star2: :diya_lamp:
Over 60+ participants joined in. We began by sharing feedback on the new Connect design, followed by everyone’s experiences with local Diwali shopping.

@Globe_trotter_Ish presented a slideshow and demonstrated features on Google Maps to help increase visibility for local shops. We had a great discussion about future meetups at local food stalls, arranging photo walks to assess accessibility, and enjoying meals at local restaurants. We also had a valuable conversation about helping vendors understand GPay and Google My Business (GMB) to enhance their businesses.

At the start of the meetup, @Anil6969 stepped in to share the story of Bhau Beej due to temporary technical difficulties on the host’s side, this shows how Local Guides are always ready to support each other when needed, That’s the spirit of community…!

Everyone dressed in traditional attire, and we even had a contest for the best ethnic look! This meetup truly celebrated the vibrant culture and colors of Diwali and Bhau Beej. We even performed a virtual Bhau Beej ovalani (a traditional blessing ritual).

The meetup was very interactive, with many participants proudly showcasing their Diwali shopping from local artisans and vendors. We all exchanged sweets and blessings virtually, just showing them off on camera :smiley::candy::tada:

Let’s continue supporting small businesses! Don’t forget to share how you helped local vendors this Diwali. :dizzy:
