What an incredible session we had!
Our very first edition of “Know Your Connect Moderator” went live with 46 amazing participants joining in from all over the world to connect, learn, and celebrate community.
This month’s spotlight was on none other than the ever-creative, cat-loving, community-building @AdrianLunsong, Connect Moderator and mastermind behind the “12 Months of Celebrations” campaign. Adrian gave us an inspiring look into how he brings people together — through projects, meetups, design, and of course, his YouTube channel Go Loco.
We were also thrilled to feature two incredibly passionate Local Guides:
@MarcoDavoli from Italy, who shared insights into Street View mapping and his ongoing effort to build accurate “How To” guides for contributors.
@H-C-Davies from the USA, who brought energy and curiosity into the discussion around AI, community storytelling, and creative video contributions to Google Maps.
Icebreaker Fun!
Everyone enjoyed our “Guess Who?” childhood photo quiz — and yes, some of you guessed correctly (with a little help
). That segment added a nostalgic, playful vibe to the start of the meetup!
Some of the highlights included:
- Favorite ways of contributing to Google Maps (spoiler: it’s not just about reviews!)
- Tips on uploading 360 photos in unmapped areas
- Conversations on AI in the Local Guides community
- Project previews and personal motivation behind them
- And a virtual
group photo moment that captured the spirit of the day! Here is the album of the photos.
A very special thank you to Adrian — not just for being our featured Connect Moderator, but also for offering generous technical support, hosting the entire series on his Go Loco platform, and helping make this meetup a smooth experience for all of us.
What’s even more incredible is that Adrian has committed to supporting future sessions of this monthly series — even if they don’t always align with his convenient time zone or personal schedule. That’s true community spirit, and I’m deeply grateful.
Huge thank you to Adrian, Marco, and Harrison for sharing their journeys, their laughter, and their passion. And to all who attended — your energy and support made this event truly special.

Stay tuned for next month’s guest reveal!
