Today i to took the bold step to set host my first meetup with few of my fellow local guide connect team. It all started beautifully and the end was even more special. The Virtual Meet-up for SMEs was set up to address some of the challenges Small and Medium Enterprises face at the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic.
Since it was my first, i decided to schedule the meetup for a small group of 20 persons. We started just immediately it was 10:00am (GMT+1) and we had a total attendant of 14 connect.
Agenda For The Meet-up
The agenda was scheduled into Three sessions
i- Introduce yourself and your hubby
ii- Do you verify businesses on the map?
iii- What improvement plans do you have in assisting local businesses?
They were couple of local guide connects join from other parts of the world. @deepakjhic joined the meet-up from India and shared his story on how he helped reopen businesses that have been closed down due to the advent of covid-19, he further explain how difficult life is for businesses owners at moment since they is no free flow of people, goods and other services.
Still on the Agenda, we discussed how to convey vital information to business in remote regions and help assist them take ownership of their business on Google My Business platform. I moderated each session while other team members share more insight on each topic in a very professional manner that brought commendation afterwards.
@Gideon_Ogidi was very resourceful in today’s meet-up, answering various question regarding businesses and how they can get back on track. He also shared couple of his experience with businesses in his local community and how he assist businesses take ownership and use GMB to their advantage.
Finally, we urge everyone to help local business get back on their feet, it is our responsibility to tell them why their businesses need to be on the map and how they can reach larger audience.
Hello @Mathiee it is very easy to join a meetup, you need to first identify an upcoming meetup, bellow then meetup article, you’ll find an RSVP, click on the RSVP and indicate your interest by clicking I will attend meetup.

Weldone @GiddyXp , although my internet was not very stable and i was not too stable, i was still able to gain so much from your meetup. Businesses are resuming back to services and at this point, we are supposed to help them improve there online presence. Thank you to @Gideon_Ogidi for sharing live experience with us and also @deepakjhic who has been busy reopening closed business. You guys are the best.
Thank you for your response @Austinelewex it was my first meetup and I did not make much publicity on the meetup. Now I am learning about new stuffs everyday here.
