[RECAP] USS Midway Museum Walk 🚢

I had a chance to visit San Diego this month and planned to host a meetup, so then I published the meetup in the meetup site. Firstly, @KimberlyAnnG and a friend asked me what was the plan and told, only the week after they will be in Santiago and they said they will be missing this meetup.

The meetup location was a little closer to where I stayed and I was really happy to visit USS Midway Museum to see what is inside. Two of my friends who came along to the US with me for some official work, joined this meetup.

They were new to LG and I have explained them what we can do and we can not do. example, no selfies to the maps etc. We reached on time to the meetup spot and was waiting in the gate for others to join. unfortunately, nobody else joined us. so we three decided to go inside. when we went inside we got amazed by those airplanes and the ship structure. here are some photos of these. Ramesh and Udayakantha were taking more photos and I was taking some videos.

The handheld smart device allowed us to get the information of each plane and some places while tapping. the device has a speaker and we can listen to the instruction and the history about the tapped place or the airplane. We had lots of fun. volunteers who assist in the ship were amazing, the demo and the explanation given were really fantastic. We all took many photos and uploaded to google maps. my main target was to upload more photos to google map and showing people what’s inside.

finally, we wound up the meet up and went to a Chinese restaurant and had some good food.

Have a look at the photos

Hi @IlankovanT . Oh wow, you got to visit the United States and California again, how fun! That’s really awesome that you were able to visit the USS Midway. I hear it’s lovely and just saved it on Google Maps. May I ask where you three went to have Chinese food? If it was nearby, I’ll follow in your footsteps on my next visit.

By the way, did you make it to Coronado Island? I once did a site visit for my last company at Hotel del Coronado, staying there for a night; it was AMAZING.

Thank you @TraciC ,

Yeh, it was really fun. This was my first time to see a ship engine room and certain parts of the ship and I enjoyed it.

Also, the volunteers there were very enthusiastic and instructed in a really good manner. I’m sure you will keep asking more questions from them at your level of curiosity

Yeah!, we all were Asians and we missed the spicy food during that one whole week stay there. So we finally decided to have a HOT and Spicy chicken fried rice from Great Wall Express. It took about a 15-minute walk from the museum. I have prepared my map. Please check the route.
