The sweet winter sunshine of Pune is encouraging people to venture out of home and enjoy some delicious Indian cuisine.
Although restaurants were open for restricted times of the day during the lockdown Punekars are increasingly visiting several food joints that also have sit-out areas.
Here is a Photowalk on Baner Road in Pune showing the best places to eat with sit-out areas:
They have both indoor and an exciting outdoor sit-out arrangement with comfy chairs spread over in the front area that is covered with fine granules.
The area is covered with inverted umbrellas that are colorful giving a rich and enjoyable ambiance to the place.
Each center table has a set of paper napkins and a scented candle lit up for an evening filled with romance.
The side lane has a nice ramp that leads to more open space and this sit-out area too is covered with colorful umbrellas.
- Chai La literally means ‘Bring Me Some Tea’ in a humorous sense and is a tiny tea outlet on Sus Road in Pune.
They have tables and tiny chairs indoors but the main attraction is the sit-out area in the front while enjoying the views of a busy Sus road and passer-byes.
Above the sit-out areas are what have now become popular and are called Edison bulbs. The fancy bulbs add a lot of charm to the place after sunset.
- Brew for You is my favorite coffee shop on Baner road in Pune and they have a cozy indoor area with limited seats though most people here prefer the fabulous outdoor sit-out are.
The small area has artificial grass flooring and wooden tables that add to the comfort of the cafe.
Medium-sized palm trees and lately Christmas trees in pots add a zing to the place.
- Mad Over Chinese is adjacent to the cafe and is the GoTo place for those loving Chinese food.
This food joint also has synthetic lawns on the floor and cane chairs tables that make it appear like an authentic Chinese restaurant.
They have both an indoor and outdoor counter for quick service and Edison bulbs are seen hanging at the end of thick knotted ropes.
- Venky’s Express is the best Indian ‘fried chicken’ chain and competes with the famous KFC and Star Chicken brands.
This food joint in the Aundh area of Pune is labeled as take-away but they also have a sit-out or specifically stand-out tables to enjoy freshly prepared chicken dishes.
A dustbin trash can and a foot-operated hand-sanitizer dispenser are also seen. The manikin is from the neighboring shop.
Here is the banner of the meetup though I chose the first photo of the food joint as the profile photo.
