Panchalankurichi - Kattabomman Fort

Panchalankurichi was ruled during 18th century A.D. by poligars of Kattabommu family . The great hero Veerapandiya Kattabomman ruled this region as the fourth ruler . The port was demolished during 1786 A.D. by colonel Bullorton . Then it was reconstructed by Veerapandiya Kattabomman.

But again Major Bannerman attacked Panchalankurichi and demolished the fort during 1799 A.D. this fort was again erected by Umaithurai , younger brother of Veerapandiya Kattabomman with clay and jaggery juice within 6 days . Colonel macaulay finally destroyed this fort

Thank you @AnuradhaP , The place is now a small village, old fort demolished memorial fort (like old model) was build and maintained by deportment of archaeology, Govt. Tamil Nadu

@RtnArulPrakasamT There is so much value in visiting heritage places in small towns. Good to get to know this place. And good to know a bit of the history of the place also.

How did you get it? Do you have to organize 36 view meet-up or upload your street view pictures on Connect? Or any other way?

I have olny started streetview photography with my phone camera, would like to know how it works.

Yes, I read it, but I thought you need to show it somehow on Connect too, or as soon as you posted 50 approved 360 pictures on Google Maps you got the badge automatically on your Connect page too?
