This was my first meet up as a host and I was excited to host one. The map editing walk was a great success. We met at Nyayo Gardens Park, had some yogurt as we waited for the rest. We were five participants. We had all met earlier in the year in past local guide walks so it was good seeing each other again.
.First, we discussed the route we would take. Starting from Nyayo gardens, we walked towards Baringo Street, which is one of the longest streets in Nakuru town. It has a lot of small local businesses that are not on the map. The map editing went well and we were able to take photos and map a lot of the places. The local shop owners/staff were interested in what we were doing and were open to us taking photos. The walk culminated at a hill facing Lake Nakuru which gave us an awesome view of the lake and town.
Our local guides @questkv and @samgeeke suggested a scenic route to Lake Nakuru entrance which was a nice scenic walk of the lake to the right and the town to the left. We took a group photo at the entrance and went back into the town.
We enjoyed a lot and had fun. Thanks for attendees for making this walk awesome, learnt a lot of new areas in the town and awesome views. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks @Meidimi for hosting the walk. I really had a wonderful experience on that Saturday afternoon, I also noted that the business owners were friendly compared to the past experience others even offered more information to add in the map while we showed them how they can be updating the info in the map themselves. I look forward to attending and hosting another meet up in 2019
