Hi fellows,
A regular meeting of Moscow Local Guides was held in Moscow.
We remarkably had more than 4 hours together. We saw the Ukraine Hotel, Novodevichy Monastery, Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow State University, Gorky Park, Monument to Peter the Great, Christ the Savior Cathedral, Moscow Kremlin, St. Basil’s Cathedral, Novospassky Bridge and many many other Moscow’ landmarks.
For the format of the event, we chose a “photo walk” from the river. Navigation on the Moscow River is very active, and there is a large selection of boats and ships.
But we chose something new. This year a new format has appeared - it is a “Flower flotilla”.
10 small multi-colored catamarans with floral names. Residents and guests of the capital can ride on the Moscow River on bright and modern “river trams”. Sunflower, Lily, Rosa, Orchid, and others, all those is a new project - ten river trams, which make familiarity with the main sights and architectural image of the capital. These boats go on schedule, with an interval of 30 minutes. On board, there are vending machines with coffee, drinks, and snacks, two very polite sailors and a great captain. Boats have a sliding roof, all seats are swivel, equipped with audio controllers. Sailors give out disposable headphones, and you can listen to the audio guide in several languages. But the participants of our meet up preferred to listen to me.
Also, several guests from other cities and even countries joined our walk, which was very pleasant.
I tried to tell a lot of interesting information about Moscow and the sights that we sailed. We were able to consider well a lot of objects in the center of the city.
After the walk, we had a good conversation, which was dedicated to the Local Guides project’s peculiarities, problems, and issues.
I’m sincerely grateful to everyone who was able to join our meet up.
Looking forward to seeing you again.
