[Recap] Mexico City 360º photography

Final counter: 15 churros, 2 squares, a squirrel, a church and a bunch of 360º images for Google Maps

Encouraged by the call of @ValeriaAumasque I organized my first Meetup in Mexico City. Unfortunately I did not realize that the schedule that appeared in the invitation was incorrect, I proceeded to cancel the Meetup and generate a new one three days before the date! I was almost sure that no one would attend an event so little announced, but I still arrived punctually at the appointment to have breakfast at Churrería del Carmen. To my surprise, four more people arrived, I was happy to talk about the Local Guides program and the inclusion of 360º images on Google Maps.

We were all photography enthusiasts so we shared anecdotes, tips and knowledge about photographic equipment. After a brief explanation about the use of the Street View application, we began taking photospheres of the pedestrian paths of two famous squares in the San Angel neighborhood, one of the most beautiful colonial areas of Mexico City.

I had calculated two hours to complete the entire journey, but the conversation and the place allowed us to spend an hour more browsing the Sunday market where we bought delicious edible insects.
I think we all discovered new things during this photowalk, we learned more about Google Maps and, above all, we made new friends. Surely I will organize another Meetup in the future.

This is the recap video, there’s a squirrel in it!

Sounds good @Aura !

Besides creating a meet-up on our meet-up site, you can also share your meet-up on your social channels. It will create quite a bit of exposure for your event.

Congrats @Aura! Awesome first meetup. Love your recap video. Are you now addicted? When is your next meetup?

The insects at the end were a nice touch! I now always think of you as the “Bug Lady” LoL I did eat 4 of these that night. They were tasty!

Cheers,

Karen
