Hello, guiders!
On Sunday, 10th March 2019, Local Guides did a Meet-Up Wikimedia II in Wikimedia Indonesia office. The place is close to Sudirman Station around 5-10 minutes by walk. It started at 10.00 am until 03.00 pm. This meet-up just for 15 people because of the limitation of room and local guides who attended the meet-up around 14 people. There were @Radjasitanggang who helped us to manage this meet-up , @Liahakso , @dian_9395 , @JendiRatuKado , @Ain_amush , @ndraverne , @denysaputraaa , @360bymiftah , @emuniruzaman , @RobbyGermanotta , AHF, dimsekoprasetyo, veronika07 and me.
Before we attended the meet-up, we should create an account on Wikipedia first as our own account to do writing practice. The facility there was complete enough and the place was comfortable and clean. They provided free WiFi, free lunch, table and electricity for us.
First of all, Kak Yordan and Kak Raymond as trainers of this session (WikiLatih) introduced about Wikimedia Indonesia and Wikipedia. They told about the history, the goal and their projects and one of them is Wikipedia which as an online encyclopedia. After that, they trained us to write a good article on Wikipedia based on the article that they already provided. When we were writing, Kak Dimas as a trainer too helped us to write. Not only Kak Dimas but also Kak Yordan and Kak Raymond helped us patiently. And then, we got break time from 12.00 pm until 02.00 pm. We could do pray and had lunch at that time. Besides that, some of us edited the map marker of Wikimedia Indonesia on Google Maps which is the map marker was not exact with the place. So, some of us tried to fix it.
Next, we continued our writing practice and taken some photos together. We learned many things such as how to write well, informative and educative. This was good for us as local guides to write review, sharing experiences and stories through Local Guides Connect and writing on Wikipedia.
