Welcome on board as I take you on a journey through the most immersive transport interchange in the heart of the city of Lagos, Nigeria. After a very long wait for the facility to be commissioned, we decided to take a tour on a less-busy day to capture the intrigues of this work of art.
This meetup was attended by @Sayo , @MrFreez , @Abdullahi_cap , @HelloSamsonR , @Sagir , @Oladelefameso , @Uchenna , all appearing in the group photo. The timing was near-perfect as we intended on capturing the night lights of the terminal, except that we could not wait for so long for the lights to come up. We began the photo walk at 05:30 PM and ended at 07:00 PM. It was a great time with the community as we explored this facility

Popularly called the Oshodi Transport Interchange, it is arguably the largest and the most efficient, all-encompassing bus terminal in Lagos which boasts of intra-city and inter-city transit to other parts of the country; a major architectural masterpiece with a construction budget of about $70 million. Our focus was on Terminal 3, which was the only operational terminal at the time.
We held the meetup on a weekend to allow us capture the best shots without interruptions as it gets really busy here weekdays. We sought to also capture a couple of features befitting of a public facility including parking spaces for visitors, ease of access, organization of the place and accessibility: wheelchair, audio, braille. Although it did not tick all boxes, a major part of the facility was equipped with a fair amount of these features. No braille, however.
The most obvious was the wheelchair ramp at the entrance. We also discovered the buses had free USB charging ports and were wheelchair-accessible with a retractable ramp from the doorway for the physically challenged. Better still, the wheelchair symbol was boldly displayed in front of the buses. In less than 2 hours, we had captured stellar, crisp and captivating photos of this wonderful place.
A special guest who joined us at the meetup was the Deputy Operations Manager of Terminal 3, who doubles as a Local Guide too! It was our first time meeting with him. A quick tour of the facility, it was revealed over 2 million passengers had been recorded already.
The whole place was serene and well-maintained. The passenger loading bay follows international standards and as hinted by the management, the terminal has received well over 2 million passengers since its launch in May 2019.
