So this meet-up was one of my special meet-ups; the reason behind this is that it was my 25th meet-up as a local guide. So I reached the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport at 02:00 PM, and after checking in, I saw @PritishB already waiting there.
We met and planned how to start the meet-up, deciding that I would submit my baggage first, then we could have a Chai Pe Charcha session, and after that, we could begin.
According to our plan, after we had the chai and samosa, we started exploring the airport. We have visited various washrooms available at the airport and saw that a wheelchair is accessible to the toilets and there is a dedicated toilet for the specially abled people.
We roamed around the airport and found that there are baby care centres available at various places in the airport, and kids’ play and enjoyment areas available. Ramps are also available.
Pritish had his flight 20 minutes before me, so he boarded, and I continued with the meet-up. I further found that wheelchair facilities are available; even the boarding gates offer special services for people with disabilities, including wheelchair access.
Congratulations on your 25th meetup, @Shaunak !
Love how you highlighted accessibility features, wheelchair ramps, dedicated toilets, baby care centres, shows real attention to detail. Thanks for this inspiring and well-documented recap of the Kolkata Airport experience.
