Thank you @AdrianLunsong for sharing your views. I’ve revised the post. Interestingly, @Kumaarsantosh gave me the same advice right after I posted it on Connect, but I wanted to showcase the zeal of our team member, so I went ahead and quoted it anyway (sometimes what we have close to us feels less valuable — sorry @Kumaarsantosh
). Now I’ve adjusted it to a more general statement, though honestly, it still doesn’t capture the full enthusiasm of my team!" ![]()
Absolutely right @PrasadVR! It’s our team that truly deserves the praise. They are the pioneers in playing LG10ScavengerHunt, and it turned out to be a wonderful learning experience for me from my teammates. ![]()
@AdrianLunsong. Thanks for the kind words of appreciation. We LGs are soon going to put together a virtual meet up for other LGs who may want to organise or maybe join a hunt. However for the benefit of all i am putting together a few learnings:
- This is a team effort and hence does not matter who is the host. Most tasks are team efforts and some can be done individually. However points go to the whole team. So unlike the drap corporate team building efforts LG10ScavengerHunt is a genuine, immersive and engaging team building exercise
- LGs get genuine opportunity to contribute to the community. e.g We had to review a place which has less than 20 reviews ( this was though). We also had to find a place which has five star rating and take a team pic in front of it (This too was tough)
- There are serveral trivia questions which actually helps one understand the history of maps and connect. One can try again and again till one can get correct answer. The joy of getting it right first time may not happen aways but team will get some points nevertheless
- The App is not very dependable. If you close down during the hunt you may not be able to rejoin. So best is to join the team before the hunt starts and then entire team can keep updating tasks on one of the mobile phones. In our case we had two team members @Nomad_Enkay and @The_GauravS who were our challenge updaters!
- One day in advance get into a huddle to discuss the plan and strategy. If planned well it is real fun
- Do have pens, Pencils, Papers and some loose coins during the hunt . It helps
And most importantly have fun…. It is a great initaitive @Kristen_NYC
