As part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of LG activities, a Geo Walk was organized, inspired by our incredible moderator, @NareshDarji.
Although I live in Kollam district, I’m about 50 km away from where the walk took place. The goal of this Geo Walk was to uncover hidden gems, and I must say, I was truly amazed by what I discovered.
I began my walk from College Junction, Kollam, Kerala, a key landmark in the city known for its many educational institutions. However, the main focus of this Geo Walk was to add missing businesses, remove those that no longer exist, and explore the newly opened WE PARK KOLLAM.
Kerala’s first-ever WE Park officially opened its doors on March 1st, transforming an underutilized urban space into a vibrant community hub. This initiative is a fantastic representation of Kerala’s new design policy, which focuses on beautifying cities and enhancing productivity by creatively repurposing neglected areas.
Located near SN College, this park offers much more than just green space—it’s designed for recreation, fitness, and community engagement. Here’s what I found:

Skating Area – A smooth surface for skating enthusiasts.
Parking Facility – Convenient for visitors.
Basic Amenities – Ensuring a comfortable experience.
This park is a brilliant example of urban planning done right, spaces for public use and creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
An Unexpected Delight: Affordable Meals
After spending time at the park, something caught my eye—a place offering meals for just ₹20. Since it wasn’t lunchtime yet, I opted for breakfast and tea, and to my surprise, the total cost was only ₹20.
This Geo Walk was truly an eye-opening experience, allowing me to discover the beauty of thoughtful urban planning and hidden gems in my own district.
