Hi, Friends,
The 690th meet-up of India Local Guides was hosted on 11th January 2026 in-person mode at Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math & Mission:-
Location: Google Maps
I have planned for a Meet-up at Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math & Mission on January 11, 2026. A meet-up at the Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math & Mission is a deeply spiritual and serene experience. As the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, the atmosphere is naturally meditative, making it an ideal spot for reflection and fellowship.
The event was centered around the Kamarpukur Ramakrishna Math & Mission and focused on community engagement and digital mapping.

Ancestral House of Sri Ramakrishna is the humble home where the saint spent his childhood.
Yogi (NATH) Shiva temple is a small, ancient temple that holds great significance in the local spiritual tradition. This is where Sri Ramakrishna’s mother had a divine vision before his birth.
Haldar Pukur is a large, sacred pond located near the ancestral house. Sri Ramakrishna used to bathe here during his time in the village.
Laha’s House: “Laha Babu” refers to Dharmadas Laha, the wealthy and benevolent landlord (zamindar) of Kamarpukur was not just the village’s social authority but also the closest friend and supporter of Sri Ramakrishna’s father, Kshudiram Chattopadhyay. When Kshudiram’s family faced extreme poverty, the Laha family provided constant support. The ancestral house of the Lahas, with its Durga Mandap (the open-air hall for worship), was a center for village festivities. It was here that a young Gadadhar often participated in religious discussions, sometimes even stunning scholars by solving complex theological debates.
Laha’s Pathshala: The primary school where Sri Ramakrishna (Gadadhar) received his early education.
Dhani Kamarini’s House: The home of Dhani, the blacksmith woman who acted as the midwife during Sri Ramakrishna’s birth and was his first “godmother.”
**Kamarpukur:**A pond by which name the place is named as ‘Kamarpukur’.
