Recap: [Hybrid] India, September 20, 📣 Announcement: The Bangalore Mega Meetup 2025! - A unique gathering of Indian and International Local Guides📣

Hello dear Friends,

This collaborative RECAP is written on behalf of the organising team (Core Team) of this Mega Meetup by Host, TravellerG. Starting with our Aditya, all the Core Team Members arrived at the venue before 10 am - there were a few enthusiastic LGs who also arrived before the starting time.

Thanks a million, dear “All Attendees”, the Bangalore Mega Meet-up, held on September 20, 2025, at Srivari Bhimas, Yelahanka, was a grand success because of you all; this meet-up was planned for 50 members and was attended by 68 LGs. This meet-up was conceived by @TusharSuradkar months back (thanks to him).

The meet-up had both formal and informal components:

Presentations and Discussions: More than 50 LGs arrived by 10:30 am, and @TravellerG and @TusharSuradkar started to share their journey to level 10. Almost at 11 am, as per the agenda, Googlers @Latika_Malhotra, Moh, Emily and Malini arrived for the pre-planned demonstration. They started interaction with all the LGs present. Later, they selected LGs who had signed the NDAs and started to explain the Demo, in groups of five LGs each. As a part of the demo, they went out in batches and all returned by around 12:30 pm.

While the LGs went for the demo, @Shreyamusings started the brief introduction with a twist where one person had to introduce the other person. It was interesting to watch everyone participating and sharing five interesting facts about their paired partners. Everyone engaged in the activity one by one.

Virtual Meet-up: Though the meetup started a bit late, later many LGs joined the session - thus, the virtual meetup was also very successful.

Networking and Socialising: A room full of attendees seated and engaged in conversation, indicating a worthwhile session for community interaction and networking. People took so many photos and created some trending reels. It was a delight to interact with so many Local Guides. This meet-up had different networking sessions, which lasted till 4 pm; due to this, we had to cancel a couple of games and a quiz.

Dining: Around 2 pm, the lunch session began; attendees were seated at long tables, and meals were served on banana leaves, a traditional South Indian style of dining. This Premium Meal was served in collaboration with the owner of Srivari Bhimas Restaurant; our @aditya.kalkur shares the full credit for this mission. Food was absolutely delicious, freshly prepared, healthy and up to the standards. And @SonamW took a lot of initiatives, including serving the attendees during lunch.

Participant Engagement: @Shubhamwaman got name tags arranged on a table showing the names of many attendees, including “Abhishek,” “Rashmi,” “Rahul,” “Swathi,” “Vikas,” “Priyanka”, and many more. The tags also feature a “TeamIndia Local Guide” logo, acknowledging the event was for local guides, by local guides. The name tags were also arranged to spell “GOOGLE.” These details highlight the creativity and the event’s connection to the Google Local Guides community by the organising team, which included @aditya.kalkur, @shubham, @shreyamusings, @sonamw, @ssiddharth2000, @Gvipin, @k.k.sharma, @kumaarsantosh, @ajitthite, @MathanVibranarayan and @travellerg.

Special thanks to the Googlers @Latika_Malhotra, Moh, Emily and Malini for participating and making the session more meaningful.

Last but not least, every attendee was given a reusable bag, a symbol of sustainability (contributed by Host TravellerG), filled with a bookmark and stickers designed by @ShreyaMusings, @ajitthite, @gvipin, @shubhamwaman, @sonamw, and @kumaarsantosh. And @travellerg presented Laser Art Stainless Steel glass and a few stickers. @K.K.Sharma brought the beautiful backdrop banner, which was designed by our @AjitThite, and @JohnPeter contributed the “Tamil Nadu Local Guides” hand-bands.

What are your opinions and experiences?
Regards to all

This was my very first Local Guides meetup, and I’m truly grateful for the experience. Meeting so many passionate and experienced Local Guides in one place was inspiring and heartwarming. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and encouraged, and I made meaningful connections that I’ll cherish.

A big thank you to @ShreyaMusings for the warm welcome and to @TravellerG for hosting the event with such care and enthusiasm. I’m especially thankful to @PrasadVR, whose kind recommendation gave me this wonderful opportunity to attend.

Before the meetup, @TusharSuradkar helped us prepare with insightful online sessions, deepening our understanding of the Local Guides program. His thoughtful gesture of sending small gifts to us beforehand was truly touching — these little surprises brought so much joy and motivation. Meeting him in person was a special moment I won’t forget.

I also had the pleasure of meeting amazing contributors like Adithya (blogger) and community leaders such as @Gurukrishnapriya Ma’am, @PrasadVR Sir, and Aarti Madam. They generously shared valuable advice on growing within the community and making a real impact. I learned many things that I hadn’t even considered before.
Meeting members of the Google team was a bonus, making the event feel even more connected and supportive. Their presence showed how much they truly value the Local Guides community.

During the meetup, we received some lovely gifts thoughtfully arranged by the organizers. These tokens brought big smiles and made everyone feel appreciated. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who made that possible — your kindness meant a lot to all of us.

To top off this amazing day, Srivaari Bhimaas treated us to delicious and authentic South Indian food, adding warmth and flavor to an already memorable experience!

And finally, this meetup was much more than just a gathering — it felt like joining a caring family. I’m honored and excited to be part of such a vibrant and inspiring Local Guides community. Looking forward to many more moments of learning, sharing, and connecting with all of you! :sparkles:  :world_map:
