Recap: [Hybrid] India, September 17, Accessible Chennai Airport

Hi Friends

As scheduled I reached the Airport for the meetup on time. I wished to share virtually the Accessibility features of the Chennai Airport.

One can get guidance and help from the help desk.

The complete Airport is accessible. Announcements are made for the blind person to get information.

There are wider chairs for the people to be seated during their wait. All places have ramps for wheelchair :wheelchair_symbol: accessibility. Seated there people can view the flight take off.

Right from the entrance till boarding the flight. Below is the picture of the ramp leading to board the flight.

There are food kiosks near the gates for pleple to get coffee and snacks.

There are sustainable dustbins nearby.

The whole of the airport is very very accessible to all kinds of people and there are toilets near all the gates with drinking water taps.

I was unable to open the Google Meet link to join my friends virtually because of the security reasons and I felt bad about for not conducting the meetup. Hopefully my recap will be helpful for my friends.

Nicely covered accessibility features at a busy airport @Gurukrishnapriya

I greatly appreciate it that even in a busy schedule, you took time to capture these features at the airport :+1:

Let’s plan to meet in Pune or Chennai soon :folded_hands:

Thanks @TusharSuradkar for your compliments. I had some time, since I went early for conducting this meetup. I would have been still more happier if the virtual meetup would have happened.

I had never been to Chennai, even for transit at the airport, @Gurukrishnapriya mam.
I wish to visit one day. It’s on my bucket list.

You have covered it nicely here.

Cheers!

Thanks for your feedback. Book tickets when they are cheaper @AjitThite and come. Will plan for nearby places around to explore. There are many places to explore. Also we can conduct a meetup with Chennai Local Guides.
