Hey All,
Just to recap. It was amazing experience.
Thank you @Suruchi1 for accepting my suggestion to host a meetup.
You are probably the fastest local guide to have joined the program, attending a meetup and then hosting one yourself.
Great choice of place - World Peace Dome in Pune.
Suruchi reached 15 minutes earlier than me and @ShubhamWaman
Shubham was in bad health, yet he showed some great LG spirit to attend the meetup
We purchased the tickets at the gate which was INR 100.
and started moving towards the dome - it is HUGE - the largest in the world.
The amazing reflection in the water channel added to the charm of the place.
There were amazing views on all sides of the gardens providing 360° viewing pleasure.
Inside the dome was a silent meditation area with light music and the sound of being recited all over. Those who do not know that symbol - it is Om…!
There are several dozens of golden statues of notable figures like the Chinese traveler from the 8th Century who came to India to seek knowledge and wisdom and that of Gautam Buddha among others.
This is one of the 4 entrances of the dome.
The structure is entirely made of marble and sandstone. It is amazingly beautiful.
They also have an underground library and reading room.
After spending 45 minutes at the place, we left for snacks and tea.
We had sandwiches, burgers, pasta, tea, and coffee at the Serenity Restaurant nearby.
There is ample free parking for 2-wheelers and 4-wheelers outside the restaurant and the World Peace Dome.
Here’s our little group photo before leaving the monument.
Many local guides joined online too. Thanks to the spirit of local guides in India who took the time to participate in the Google Meet and encouraged us while enjoying the beauty of the dome.
Sounds like a fantastic meetup at the impressive World Peace Dome! Glad you all made it, especially @ShubhamWaman despite feeling unwell. The golden statues and the water reflections must look particularly beautiful.
Thank you for sharing beautiful pictures and recap.
Thanks @NareshDarji bhai .
The World Peace Dome is truly stunning, and I’m glad I made it despite feeling unwell. Totally worth it
