(RECAP) Exploring Mount Abu

Hi, to all the Local guides…

I am excited to share my experience of hosting my very first meet-up and also the first Meet-up of Mount Abu. I always wanted to host it but was nervous regarding it but finally after managing my time and nervousness, I was able to do so…

So as per my plan, I reached Nakki Lake by 12noon and was accompanied by LG @Shuklamitra

Then we waited for other two LGs who marked that they were attending the Meet-up but nobody came. A cool breeze was blowing and sipping tea and viewing the lake was what I wanted.

After having tea, we went to Nakki Lake and it’s adjoining Garden and took photographs of it and from there we decided to go to Champa Cave.

A cave even not much known by locals but it’s famous because Swami Vivekananda meditated here in 1891 (you guys must be knowing about his speech at Parliament of World Religions, Chicago)

It is on Bayley’s walk and the same path lead us to Toad rock (also called Dinasaur Rock).

Seriously you can see the whole city from the top and a good place to relax as well. After that, it started to drizzle and we trek back to the lake.

We both decided to have some lunch so we visited Tandoori Bites which is near Polo Ground. The meal was awesome and we both reviewed it as well, now due to time constraints and weather we decided to do quick visits to local shops instead of visiting far places and we ended our meet-up with famous Ice cream shop just near the Nakki Lake Garden.

I may not be good in this but I tried to contribute to maps as much as I good and will organise more such meet-ups in future and if you’re from South Rajasthan then don’t hesitate in telling me about any meet-ups…

It seems you had a great day, @AnshukMitra , despite the fact that two Local Guides didn’t joined.

The place is interesting, did you made many edits?

The secret for having the people coming is to involve them on the organisation of the meet-up with a specific role, and to submit a meet-up when you have an organisation team at work.

Good luck for your next one

Yes it was a great day, and Yes I made edits specially I added a tourist spot named “Sath Ghum View Point” which is popular among tourist but to surprise it was not added on the maps… So I added it to the maps. I described my meet-up very short but I enjoyed it a lot…

And thanks for the idea regarding organisation of meet-up with specific role. Yes I am thinking about that as soon as more LGs from my area join as well…
