Welcome to the Recap post of the 50th Meetup (virtual) of West Bengal Local Guides & Connect’s 5th Birthday celebration. Meetup details at a glance-

The meetup was started with the introduction session. New Local Guides from around West Bengal joined this meetup and we tried to make them understand about connect forum, quality contribution on Google Maps, Accessibility contribution, etc during the meetup.
After the introduction, @ReshamDas started his presentation and shared how he and WBLG started the journey. The attendees were nostalgic after remembering the initial days of WBLG. Thanks to ReshamDas for sharing about the old days of WBLG with the new Local Guides of West Bengal.

Then @DrShaunak shared his experience with the local guide program and also shared his connect live experience. The newly joined local guides were really excited after listening words from him. Beside local guiding, being a doctor, he also suggested all the LGs to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Thanks to him for sharing his experiences and advice.
After this I presented about activities of WBLG since last year, and how the newly joined local guides should contribute to maps and makes map spam-free. Here are some parts from the slides which I presented in gif format-
Then @PrateekAgarwal shared his experience with WBLG. Especially, how the Indian Heritage walk meetup was conducted in Kolkata was really exciting for me. Being a foodie he is always ready to host Food walk meetup. Hopefully, soon all of us will join his food walk meetup in Kolkata. Thanks to him for his words in the meetup. It was great to have one of the seniors of WBLG @SDatta with us. He shared his experience with WBLG and how the local guiding program has helped to grow up a beautiful relation between two countries India and Bangladesh.
Next, @ShafiulB from Bangladesh shared his experience with WBLG and especially about the joint venture meetup series between India and Bangladesh , the Sonar Bangla meetup series. @ShakilAK from Bangladesh, reminded all of us the need to update the information of the local medicine shops during this pandemic time. His smiling face and celebration mode kept the LGs cheerful all time during the meetup. @KalyanPal shared his journey with WBLG and with accessibility. @ShahMdSultan shared his experience in India and the India-Bangladesh joint venture physical meetup.
@arnabkumar joined us from West Bengal. He is a specially-abled person. He shared his experience about how he found about #AccessibleBengal initiative of WBLG and then about Local Guiding program and connect. His words surely inspired all the LGs to include accessibility information in the reviews on maps.

Though the meetup time was limited to 1 hour, but due to spontaneous response of the LGs, the meetup continued for 1 hour 30 minutes.

Before starting the meetup, @AdrianLunsong joined to say hi to us. But as the meetup was not started yet, so he had to say hi only to me . Thanks to him for joining us.

In the last part of the meetup, the attendees invited each other to their countries India and Bangladesh . Moreover, during this COVID-19 situation, keeping the LGs cheerful was also a target of this meetup. Thanks to the Local Guiding program which has made such a platform which has given all of us a global family. Thanks to all of you for reading this post.
