Reason for Disabled Photo/Avatar and/or Google tag for Googlers

Hello Fellow LGs and Googlers,

I have come across some profile on connect which has their photo/avatar disabled. Two of such instances are attached in the photo below.

Curious to know about this. Does this mean that the person no longer hold a particular tag of CM or GM?

Photo 1: Photo/Avatar is disabled but the Google Tag is enabled

Photo 2: Photo/Avatar is disabled along with the Google Tag

Appreciate your response.

Thanks for asking @Kumaarsantosh

Yes, you are correct.

The Photo avatar is linked to our Google profile (gmail dot com of - For GM, Google dot com).

If a Google Contributor change his job, (this may happen to everyone of us too) and the email is removed, the avatar will disappear.

If you open one of the post that you are showing in your screenshot you will see the text “Former Google Contributor” near the Connect name, and the G will be grayed out.

But if that person still be working at Google, and simply changed his position, the Coloured G will remain oh the profile

Thanks @ErmesT for your quick explanation. I was also thinking the same as the second one is more evident.

The first one I was wondering how? It clarifies.

Thanks again for the response.
