I’m super excited to share a major personal milestone that I recently unlocked on Google Road Mapper: I have officially crossed the 1,000 km mark in total roads drawn!
Here is a quick snapshot of my dashboard stats so far:
Total Distance Drawn:1,000 km (over 1,000,000 meters of road geometry!)
Mapping missing road geometry is one of the most direct ways we can make Google Maps better for everyone. In many rural or rapidly growing regions, missing roads on the map can lead to lost navigation, longer emergency response times, or difficulty accessing basic local services.
To put 1,000 km into perspective, it’s approximately the distance from Tokyo to Hiroshima—or driving all the way from New York City to Chicago! Tracing each segment requires careful satellite visual inspection, proper snapping at intersections, and precision alignment, so hitting four digits feels like a huge accomplishment.
What’s Next?
I’m looking forward to taking on more challenge tiles, keeping up my streaks, and helping bridge navigation gaps for communities around the world. p-129
A big thank you to the Fellow Local Guides and mapping community for always inspiring me to keep contributing and making an impact!.
That’s good progress @Trishatishu. Congratulations.
Did you get an email highlighting your August performance? We have a series of monthly threads where members of the Road Mapper team share our results. We’d be happy if you add a few screenshots of your August report there. Please see the link below:
@Trishatishu Huge congratulations on reaching 1,000 km on Road Mapper and completing 550 tiles!
Your dedication makes a huge impact on global navigation.
Congratulations for your achievement, @Trishatishu!
I’m trying to contribute more to Road Mapper, but right now I’m still focusing on adding roads in Google Maps.
Keep contributing!
