I installed the Goody app and tried sending a gift; however have received an error message - “maximum redemptions have been reached for this code”. I have only received this email yesterday, and haven’t used it previously. Is there a problem with the codes that were distributed? Or is it another “rat race”?
@Mostwired I don’t know for sure what kind of deal the Local Guides team made with this particular promotion, but based on my past experience, there’s usually a limit set by the vendor in terms of how many people that can redeem the promotion. Then more people are getting the promotion, because most of the time not everyone will redeem it (similar to how airline overbook tickets).
In any case, I’ll check with the team to see what’s going on. Will update you if I hear anything.
Just received a 25$ voucher for GOODY on the 19th but when I tried to redeem it, said it was completely used or to try a different code - LOCALGUIDES. When I tried that code it was only 15$ off 30 and STILL didn’t work. I’ve been contributing for years. And have only gotten a single pair of socks? yikes
@SaltyFryMage Socks are nice to keep your feet warm. I find most local guides conversations around achievements such as socks or the newly voucher provide quite a controversial reaction as some or less are perplexed to reasons why they have not received the same socks or in this case a gift card that works, unfortunately for you an empty card. Do bear in mind, as any platform grows, items will need to be tweaked to benefit the user. Empty gift credits to a new platform for members will need some adjustments.
In my opinion, Receiving the newest edition of socks verses a new addiction to a shopping website provided by Local Guides in the form
of a Cue credit is not at all beneficial to any platform authentically. I would vote for a newer pair of socks or pin vs. a credit to a site.
Who wants a new addiction to another site basically ; over a good ole’ pair of Google Socks! Good luck with the redemptions however and I hope someone is able to credit that card for a discount.
Which I completely ageee I’d rather get small merch over coupons and such but to given these coupons and such and to have them not work, that’s what the problem is. If there’s a flaw with the system in that sense they shouldn’t have even included them in the beginning
@iyudhi I am having the exact same problem. The email from Local Guides states that the code is good until August 10, 2022, but when I attempt to use the code, it says that “this invite code could not be applied. This promo code has reached the maximum number of redemptions”. It then offers to “use code LOCALGUIDES for $15 off ($25 minimum).” This counter-offer isn’t really a reward at all, since anyone can go to Goody’s site, and do a “refer a friend” and easily get $15 off $25.
The email from Local Guides does not state, anywhere, that there is any type of limit to this gift. It only says I must redeem it by August 10th, 2022. In fact, I even received an email, encouraging me to redeem the reward, but it still does not work. I would actually like to utilize this reward, and I think I’ve earned it, for all that I’ve done to help the Maps community. If you can make it happen, I’d take it!

I have contacted Goody support, and they confirmed that this code has limited uses and has been redeemed by others up to it’s allocated capacity. InaS - will there another code be issued for those who couldn’t utilize it?
Any update on this?? Same issue for me. This was already a very frustrating and embarrassing experience after trying to use the code to send a gift via goody only to find out it didn’t work with gift cards, no terms whatsoever where states. No, after finally finding some on there worth ordering, I also got the limit message. Really not a good look.
