Ranikhet a popular calm Hill Station, Almora , Uttarakhand, India

Ranikhet or Rani ka Maidan, a picturesque hill station of Uttarakhand state, is situated at an altitude of 1830 mts above sea level. Spread over an area of about 25 sq. kms. It comes under the district Almora as it serves as Tehsil, its PIN or ZIP code is 263645 and STD code is 05966. It’s a hill station and during winters tourists must have the sufficient warm clothings, etc.

It is world famous for its natural landscape. Most of Ranikhet is under the control of the Army. The snowcapped Himalayan peaks and the redness of the rising sun are a magical sight that mesmerizes with these arts of nature.

The sweet touch and embrace of nature can be felt in the whispering cool air. I do not have words to express the beauty of this scenic spot. It is believed that this place was named Ranikhet by King Sudhardev. There are many places worth seeing here like golf course, Jhula Devi temple, Man Kameshwar temple, Kumaon Regiment museum which is established during the British Raj, eco park, Ranikhet lake etc.
