Ranganatha Temple, Srirangam

One of my favourite destination is Lord Ranganatha Temple, Srirangam. This place is located in Tirucharapalli, South India. This temple is largest temple in India occupying an area of 156 acres of land. The main deity Lord Rangantha is in a sleeping posture. Srirangam is an island in the banks of river cauvery.

The speciality of this temple is that it has seven elevated enclosures or prakarams. Prakaram is a sanskrit word and in Indian architecture, it means outer part around the hindu temple sanctum.
