This magnificent and prominent lake is situated close to the renowned Ramappa Temple which is already in the race of World Heritage. It’s about 70 Kms from Warangal, Telangana, in Palampet village of Venkatapur Mandal which was the Mulugu taluka. It was the flourishing Capital of Kakatiya Ruler. As whole kingdom registered a significant growth and blossomed in trade, culture, art, Architecture, agriculture etc. It’s an artificial Lake, was built during the rule of Ganpati Deva in 13th century. It has beautiful surroundings and having a wide spread.

Boating facilities are available at an affordable price also a perfect site for picnics, hangouts and camping. Telangana’s Tourism have many cottages for stay and a Multi Cuisine restaurant too that is Haritha. It has nice viewing pavilion guarded by steel railings and a Boat booking office a small Restaurant and an ancient Lord shiva’s Temple which is almost ruin and entry is dangerous so prohibited as warning is mentioned in bold letters. Pump houses and canals are able enough for irrigation of the land and essential needs of the locals residing in the neighbouring villages and towns.

Best time to visit is the Shivratri festival mostly in the month of February as a grand classical dance festival is organised at Ramappa temple. Otherwise October to February remain always most suitable time. It’s a major attraction among history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers.

No, dear as I was little late so couldn’t attend and missed the opportunity. Mostly it falls in February at the time of Shivratri.
