Amazing Tower
The Qutab Minar site is located to the south of Delhi. The main focal point is a very large tower. This was the location of the first mosque in India. The tower and surrounding buildings were partly built using materials taken from several Hindu temples that were knocked down. This helps explain some of the architecture. Another tower was planned and a large stump exists but it was never completed. There is also a large iron pillar that dates from the original Hindu temples. It is made of very pure iron and apparently never rusts!
