I was at master level for the Fact Finding Badge. . There were 176 edits, 135 facts checked and 1805 answers provided to questions which brought me to the master level, Then sometime between September and December of last year the number changed to 66 approved edits instead of 176 and I found myself listed as an expert Fact finder . I am trying to find out what happened that caused the drop and I would appreciate any assistance that could be provided to me to get some answers. Has anyone had a similar experience? I have screenshots of the points both before and after the change.
.Hi @michael54 ,
Normally edits don’t expire, so most likely it could be a temporary tally error. In that case, it should return to normal after a week.
But making another 34 edits should not be that difficult or time-consuming. I have made 15.000 edits so far. You may find some ideas in these posts:
Best of luck

Hello @michael54
Like photos and reviews, even edits can become private.
The Maps user contribution policy says
“Reviews, edits or photos marked private by Google are in violation of our policies and are visible only to you. Private reviews, edits or photos don’t count towards your Local Guides level.”
You will continue to get points for private edits. However, those will not qualify for a badge.
Good luck
Thank you .
Thank you , I was aware of private edits not accumulating points for badges, but I did not make any of the items private. so that would not explain the discrepancy.
Thank you for your input. Street cleaning and Zoom and Search are new Ideas to me for adding edits. Are these ideas more fully described somewhere?
Hi @michael54 ,
I just wanted to let you know that I accepted @C_T 's reply as solution.
