Hello @reply1996 welcome to the Local Guides community!
You are not alone, since this a known problem and it has been escalated. Please see DeniGu’s response here: Question for fellow Local Guides — Why are my review photos not showing up?.

Hi @reply1996 , welcome to Connect.
As mentioned by @WilfriedB , this is an issue reported also by other Local Guides and already escalated to the relevant team in Google Maps.
I want to inform you that, to keep Connect organized and to receive the updates about this issue, I am merging your post on the already mentioned topic: 📍 Question for fellow Local Guides – Why are my review photos not showing up? 🤔
Hello ErmesT,
thank you for your explanation.
It’s ok when you move my post to an existing thread which handles the same issue.
Manfred
Hello ivanos,
hopefully Google will never be allowed to sell self-driving cars.
With this kind of “product experts” = programmers and their work setting it will become really worse. ![]()
Manfred
I’m experiencing the same issue—it’s been going on for a week now.
I really hope Google can fix this soon.
As a Local Guide, it’s quite disheartening to put in the effort to write reviews and upload photos, only to have them not display properly.
Thank you!
Can’t agree more @Brook207
I know this is an increasingly common problem nowadays in GMap, but I’d report it anyway. In the past one month or so, almost all if not all of my reviews only posted without the photos, which are somehow stuck in limbo. I just realized when my friend opened my GMap account and subsequently told me about it. Weirdly enough, one of the photos for each review appears in the photo collection but not in the review itself. I don’t recall my reviews and photos are particularly violating any of the rules e.g., I always blur the faces and plate numbers whenever they appear.
My account is as follows: Google Maps
This time around the common trick of deleting and re-adding the figures no longer works either. Appreciate your responses.
Please be very specific:
Share the Maps link to the review missing pictures.
Also, please share the Maps links to the specific photos that are missing.
And let us know when you created the review.
One review is enough.
This is the first one (posted a week ago): Google Maps
Meanwhile, my review in this page was created today: Google Maps
Hi Mr @MortenCopenhagen
Hi @lontong.stroong .. you’re welcome!
I’d just like to get this point clearly..
What you mean by " blur faces and numbers…"?
Did you mean edits those pics trying to mask them!?
Thanks!
#LG
We both were starting to respond at the same time @MortenCopenhagen ![]()
Watching @lontong.stroong’s profile, I saw 100 photos and 18 reviews are hidden, which sounds like rejected by the SPAM filter.
Hi @lontong.stroong .
Welcome to Connect and thank you for asking.
The issue mentioned by you appeared just a few days ago, and it has been already escalated to the team. The report is here: 📍 Question for fellow Local Guides – Why are my review photos not showing up? 🤔
I just checked your last review and I cam confirm that:
Hence the issue is just related to some visualization glitch, and the team is already at work to fix it
This said, I want to inform you that, to keep Connect organized, I am merging your post to the already mentioned Topic. In this way you will be updated about the evolution/resolution of the issue.
Of course there are also hidden reviews and photos in your profile, as mentioned by @WilfriedB , but this is a different story. If you want help on this about how to analyze and fix hidden reviews, please start a new topic about that issue and we will be happy to help you
Thanks for the response, much appreciated.
@Laurent Yes it is.
@WilfriedB wow that surprises me, must’ve been reviews I posted a long time ago and somehow flagged afterwards (maybe after acceptance but still flagged due to algorithm changes) and go hidden.
Yes, that happened to me too and also others. Now, I compare the numbers more often.
Hi team,
I’ve been facing a consistent issue with Google Maps for several weeks now. When I write a review and upload a photo at the same time, the photo appears under the photos tab of the place, but it does not appear alongside the review.
This issue has been affecting almost every review I publish, even when:
The photo is uploaded directly while writing the review (not added later).
The image is original, clear, and directly related to the review content.
I’m aware this has been reported by other Local Guides recently, but the problem is clearly still ongoing and affecting user motivation. For contributors who care about their content, it’s extremely discouraging to see this kind of disconnect between text and photos.
Please advise:
Is this a known issue under investigation?
Should we avoid uploading photos with reviews for now?
Can someone review my account and confirm everything is in good standing?
Thank you in advance.
Regards,
Yes, this is a known issue discussed here.
I’m moving your post into that discussion.
Today’s update — could it be fixed?
Test 1: New review + four photos = review and photos show up nicely together!
Test 2: A few days old review where photos weren’t showing — deleted and reuploaded = 13 photos now visible with the review!
Test 3: A month-old review where photos weren’t showing — deleted and reuploaded = photos now visible!
That said, photo processing for reviews is clearly taking much longer now. I’m uploading compressed images, so it’s not a size issue. Even after the review was approved, the photos weren’t initially visible — but after checking back in about an hour, they appeared.
So it seems Google is approving things more slowly… but it works.
Unfortunately, it seems that for older reviews where the photos weren’t showing, you’ll need to reupload the photos for them to appear properly.
@MichaelNae
I also think things are improving but don’t think it is fixed because, as you also said, photos under many old reviews are still not restored.
Just following up. Looks like the photos are now showing up in my reviews. I’ve posted a few text-only ones over the past week, and I’ve started adding photos today since everything seems to be working fine now. No issues so far!
Yeah, I’m not expecting the photos on old reviews to magically come back either — I’ll just have to reupload them manually to get them to show up again. It would be a miracle if Google actually fixed it in a way that all the missing photos would retroactively show up again.
