Google maps allows me to share with my community and people all over the world my love of photography, food, and travel.
I especially love to find new, small businesses and getting word out that they’re open. I think spreading awareness about new, smaller businesses around town helps to keep our community unique. People love to visit charming and memorable places and Google maps allows individuals like me to share our insight about the offerings around us. To me, supporting small businesses creates a loving, happy, and nurturing environment because the people from smaller businesses tend to remember your name and or face. It’s much nicer to frequent places that make you feel welcomed.
I think being able to speak and share information and insight about places that have no social media or online presence is important because almost everyone has a phone or computer these days and the majority of people are on it for the majority of the day, so being able to add details online opens up the knowledge portal about these businesses for people who do use technology frequently. We live in the digital age and some small business owners have no clue where to begin with their digital presence and Google local guides helps to put their business on the map.
It’s amazing that every small voice makes a difference on Google maps. The Google local guides community tells me my voice matters.
