Problems with picture Upload to GoogleMaps

Hello Team,

since yesterday I face following issue.

If using an photo app and try to make a upload directly to GoogleMaps, this problem does appear on iOS and Android phones.

I did login to the account and as well tried to logout and login again.

To upload photos while going to GoogleMaps, searching the place and than add a photo is totally fine. But not to share the photo out from any other app with share to GoogleMaps.

Can you please have a check? I checked all app settings and didn’t changed anything…

In the screenshot is written, that I need to adjust the settings… I don’t have any clue what I should do.

Greetings of the day.

This post is about an issue I had with uploading photographs to Google Maps via the default Photos app on my iPhone.

Initially, I used to submit photographs straight to Google Maps using the Photos app, and it worked flawlessly. I haven’t been able to do so for a few days, and the error message I’m getting is “Sign in to add photos to Google Maps.”

The irony is that I’ve never logged out of Google Maps or changed any other settings.

It would be quite great if someone could guide me in this aspect and let me know what changes needs to be done from my end.

Hi @hardikdedhia

I saw problems on iOS devices for uploading to Google Maps but this sign-in problem seems new and I think it is a temporary issue.

By the way, this is the same issue as @TorM mentioned here.

Are you signed in google map app ?

If yes but still don’t work then make sure that you are signed in with same account in both app.

I think this might be slightly different from what @TorM is experiencing.

Within the past few days I noticed that the ability to share directly from Google Photos have returned to normal operation. Witch is such a relief.

Yes, I am logged in through the Google Maps App. The account linked in Google Maps App and Photos App in iPhone is the same.

Additionally, it would be great if normalcy could be restored in the posting of content via other apps to the Google Maps App.

Seeing the same problem today – IOS 17.0.3. It will not let me share photos to Google Maps regardless of any settings in the apps or the phone itself. Looks like this feature is now broken.

I just wanted to mention that uploading of photos and videos is working as normal from my end.

yes. I have had IOS 16.4.1 and now updated to iOS 16.7.1 and it still does not work.

while anyway it doesn’t work on Pixel either…
