Since a few weeks, everytime I open Maps, I always see the places of the lists that I follow, also if I press ‘‘hide on maps’’. Is it a common problem?

Also, have you tried to check if the locations could be saved in more than one list, just in case?

Hi @sonnyNg I tried a lot of things, such as clean cache, clean data, unistall, reinstall, update the app but the problem is still here.

Ciao @ErmesT si lo so che è strano, è come se l’app non mantenesse la selezione di mostra o nascondi luoghi degli elenchi. È da un po’ che monitoro la situazione, ho provato diverse cose ma non ha funzionato niente. Anche con il nuovo aggiornamento dell’app di questa mattina. Apro l’app, vedo i luoghi degli elenchi sulla mappa, seleziono “nascondi” e scompaiono. Chiudo l’app e quando la riapro, dopo qualche ora, i luoghi sono di nuovo lì, visibili. L’app è la versione 10.21.1 su Motorola Moto Z2 Force con Android Oreo

Just to be sure as previuosly mentioned, if the places are being saved in more than one list, as well we to check in the Shared folder in the same way (Google Maps > Menu > Your Places > Shared)?

I don’t have lists shared with friends (Google Maps > Menu > Your Places > Shared). I have some lists saved G(Maps > Menu > Your Places > Saved), public and private, and I follow 2 Google Local guides lists in my area.

That is quite peculiar, regarding the saved locations would show up continously, @FrancM .
For the moment, I would think that those lists that were followed from other Local Guides would not be part of the issue, would you share your thoughts on that direction, FrancM?
Yes they are part of the problem, but they are not lists from another Local Guide user, it is 'Google Lists’

quello che @sonnyNg voule saper è se i tuoi luoghi sono salvati in più parti (ad esempio in una lista ma anche tra i luoghi da visitare) come dall’immagine qui sotto. Nel caso lo stesso luogo fosse salvato in più posizioni, si potrebbe creare una sovrapposizione di istruzioni, che potrebbe far apparire come visibile un POI, anche se nella tua lista è impostato come “nascondi sulla mappa”. Quando riapri l’App, l’impostazione di “Nascondi/visualizza sulla mappa” cambia rispetto a come la avevi impostata tu, oppure i pin sono visibili anche se l’impostazione è “nascondi”?

Each place is only in one list, there are not duplicates. Yes the setting changes, I hide a list, then I close the app and when I open again after a few hours (because if I open in a few minutes it works), the setting is is changed and I have to hide the list again. This is the problem

I like to keep the my map “clean”, so it bothers me that the places on some of my lists keep showing up. I have no idea what makes them show up. I certainly don’t go to Your places / Saved / 3-dot menu / Show on map.
But I often have to go there and select Hide on map to clean up.
Why do they keep showing up again?
Also it would be nice to have a “Hide all”-button. It is a pain going through all lists to find which ones toggled on without my consent.
we had a couple of similar situations recently. One was solved simply clearing the cache.
For the second one we still not having a feedback, but maybe @FrancM simply forgot to update his post. His issue was tracked by @sonnyNg
A few questions:
Are the place added to only one list, or are also saved in some private location on My Places?
All the elements on a list appear on maps, or just some?

I cleared the cache of Maps. Note to self: Remember to exit Maps first.
I will keep an eye out and report back.
I think complete lists appears. Some times it is 2 or 3 at the same time.
I don’t think any of the places on my lists are on more than one list.
Some places on one list were also holding labels. I now deleted the labels and keept them on the list. That might be related to the problem.

No, I didn’t forget to update the post, because the problem is not solved for me, everything I tried didn’t work. In this time from my last post, I received Android 9 PPX29.159-23 with 1 july security patch on my Moto Z2 Force (XT1789-06) reteu. After the update I made a factory data reset of the smartphone, so it was like new, and reinstalled all the apps. My GMaps version is 10.23.4 and I still have this issue. Each place is only in one list and I don’t have labels. I also tried to clean cache.
