Today I was driving to Loch Lomond and noticed that Google Maps directed me through a private road that is only for campsite access, not for public use. The best alternative route would be to the nearby car park.
I’ve been trying to report this issue to Google Maps without success. Does anyone know how I can fix this? It’s confusing for people who are trying to navigate to the site.
I’ve attached a picture below showing where the road is closed and the correct alternative route to the car park.
The image below shows the private road without access
Hi @Sairus , thanks for raising the issue.
Private road can be in Google Maps, but in this case are usually identified as Private, and not accessible unless you suggest a destination that’s in one point of that road (e.g. the campsite).
In the future please remember, when you are reporting an issue, to share a link to the position in Google Maps. This will make easier to check the issue and to give you an answer.
Is this the closure point?
If so, as the gate is well visible in Street View, kindly share this issue to the [Google Maps Help Community](https://support.google.com/maps/community/) (they are the right community for issues related to Google Maps, while Connect is more focused on the Local Guides program) for them to escalate it to the team.
As Street View is a owned by Google they may not need any additional information, but please remember to share with them:
- A clear description of the issue
- The link of the position in Maps where they need to make a change
- The link to the position in Street View
Or, if it is easier for you, just share this conversation.
For Google maps to take me there the best route would be is to Luss Car park where visitors can park their car and have access to the beautiful view of loch Lomond.
