To reduce the pressure of passengers and trains at Prayagraj Junction, there are few more stations out of which Prayagraj Sangam station is there. The station code is PYGS. It is a modern station and is equipped with all facilities. It is a terminus from where about 16 trains depart and only 16 arrive.
Prayagraj Sangam station or Junction comes under Lucknow division in the Northern Zone. Earlier it was known as Prayag Ghat station. Before the 2019 Kumbh, it was developed as a junction and terminus by Indian Railways. There are five platforms at this junction and almost all modern facilities are available including parking, wheelchair accessibility, retiring rooms, food, booking, sitting arrangements, etc. As I was traveling to Sultanpur by Saryu Express, which departs from this station.
Trains are available from this station for stations like Chandigarh, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Basti, Ayodhya Cantt, etc. It is not a major station like Prayagraj Junction, Prayagraj Chheoki or Prayagraj Rambagh, from where distant trains are available for all states and cities.
