The Prachov Rocks are a sandstone rocky area, a nature reserve and part of the Protected Landscape Area, a Czech paradise located approximately 5 to 7 km northwest of Jičín between Prachov, Parezska Lhota, Dolný Lochov and Blaty in Hradec Králové region.
The entrance to Prachov Rocks is charged, but it’s not dramatic, it’s about 90 CZK, so I don’t think a person has a problem with that. From the cash register, literally, after a few metres, we see the first rocks, and we find ourselves on a plateau where we can pick out two search circuits, one of which is a mile and a half and one of which is about three or four kilometers long, and it should come out on some five or six kilometers of search circuit on the Prachov Rocks.
Of course, what is perhaps a disadvantage in this area is the very large number of tourists, the car to the parking lot and the large movement of people, which can cause chaos, waiting for the prospect and the crowds.
It is one of the most important and important places in the country. There are many rocky places in the country, all of them beautiful and fascinating, but Prachov ’ s are among those that should be visited by every Czech citizen, and he should enjoy the views and the amazing roads between the rocks.
The Protected Site is in the care of AOPK of the Czech Republic, the regional office of Liberecko. There are archaeological studies showing that humans have lived here since the Stone Age. The whole area of the rock was a natural fortress of Slovenian trees, with only a few places filled with ripples. Inside, the first settlements were formed. The whole area is well accessible for cars, public transport, train transport and also on foot – 7 km from Jičín to the tourist-marked areas.
The rocks were popularized with the same name song by Ivan Mládek. There are currently three tour districts for tourists. It runs from 1 April to the end of October. Access to the rocks is charged. The latter have the possibility to purchase the season ticket at a preferential price and can also travel outside the designated routes, but they must be members of the CSN or the UIAA. In the rocks, there are a series of different named prospects. In the middle of the rocky area, there is a natural spa in Pelíšek.
The Prachov Rocks are very popular, and no wonder. There are some beautiful little walkways, you turn your head and clear your mind, there are wonderful images of Czech paradise in the sky, the castle of Trosky and the rock and you absolutely get the feeling that you don’t have to worry about anything. It is an ideal excursion for rock enthusiasts, carolingists, country views, nature and calm (though there are enough tourists, quiet here). Visit this place, enjoy it, and take a break from your everyday worries.
